Tips for the mobile detailer!

I thought I would bring this thread back from the dead because of a situation that I encountered yesterday.

Now that the winter months are here. It`s a whole different ball game detailing in the winter then it is in the summer.

Yesterday, while I was washing my customers car before the correction process (in Below freezing temperatures) Icicles were hanging off the car while I wash washing it, and my Snow Foam cannon was actually spraying real snow, lol. All of the run off water was running down the parking lot of his business, and this was my first time washing in freezing temperatures, I didn`t want to take any chances with an accident happening, but I went and bought some road salt and laid it down were all of the water was. It`s just a thought for all of us Mobile detailers to keep in mind. It would suck if our water run off caused and accident

I also always have rain gear with me in case it rains so I can continue working in the rain if Im in the washing proccess I dont get soaked.

I cant tell you how many times this saved me !

Unless its a huge non stop storm I keep on working.

I realize how old this is, but I thought I would chime in with this...

These are some great shoes that I have worn for lots more rigorous work than detailing.

They are waterproof, but they are also just sneakers, so you are only waterproof if you keep the water below your ankles.

Thanks for the great tips everyone. We finally got work boots and work jackets, tired of the shoes being wet. We also got some snow pants to help out with the water.

Do you guys have any other ideas for good pants that won`t get wet and are not as puffy as snow pants. Do the Dickies absorb water that much?

What do you guys think about utilizing a bucket warmer for the wash bucket? I have one that I can put in my extractor to help heat the water quicker, I might use it in the wash bucket to keep the hands warmer during the wash process.
