Question Four Star Ultimate Paint Cleanser - removes swirls / light scratches?

    Hey Guys,

Ordered some UPP and the paint cleanser which should be arriving tomorrow. Pretty damn excited!

    :band

However, I have some swirls and scratches and I am wondering if the cleanser will remove them, as I read that it is a mild polish as well. I`m not looking to hide the scratches and swirls, but actually to remove them.

    Thanks for your help!

I don`t think that the paint cleaner is going to hide the swrils. Its designed to smooth out the clear coat. I`d try some straight polish or look for megs swril removers they have some fillers that should do the trick

Yep, I would use a swirl remover, then UPC, then UPP.

UPC is a fine product, but more of a chemical cleaner that adds gloss while cleaning. It will however remove oxidation and stains.

Thanks for the advice guys, I will try to get a swirl remover... Looking at Poorboy`s SSR 1 because the reviews have been so great, but I *JUST* placed an order with Premiumautocare.com, and the shipping seems excessive for one $12 bottle.

Can you recommend an easier-to-find alternative, or somewhere I can get SSR 1 in California?

I have 3M Pefect it coming in the mail - is this comparable to SSR1?

    Thanks again!!

Just want to put in a word for UPC - after you polish or use PB`s SSR, you may be tempted to go right to UPP and you can, but you are missing out. UPC is one of the most under-rated products around. When used with a PC and a polishing pad, it leaves an incredibly rich, slick surface that is second to none. I definitely recommend it prior to UPP, especially on dark colors. I really haven`t tested it as a defect remover, but i`m tempted to try it out on my next project - a new Grand Prix; Black of course!

jgv - I have Perfect it II rubbing compound coming in the mail - will that work like the machine glaze?

Charles W - Thanks for the URL, I will check them out.

Beemerboy - haven`t we talked before? Haha I think you replied to my X3 detailing pics post. I`m in Berkeley, soon to be in San Francisco.

ACE - Man I can`t wait for the UPP to get here tomorrow. I got my blackfire polish and paint protection in the mail today, it`s going to be painful having $30 worth of products just sitting there not being used (I bought it the day before I decided to use UPP instead, from all the reviews on this board)

    Thanks for all the feedback!
