    Cleaning CHROME wheels

What are some good products and techniques for cleaning neglected chrome wheels?

I had a bent wheel, and after receiving my replacement, i really notice how brownish the other three wheels really are...

I used the Mothers All wheel & tire cleaning foam, and Mothers Chrome polish... still pretty nasty...

The Mothers products are good products.

If the wheels have been neglected, the results may be the best you`re going to get regardless of product.

There is no miracle product out there. Sometimes we buy, buy and buy and end up with the same looks.

I learned that lesson on the chrome exhaust tips on my wife`s car. After trying three products, (one hype over the other) they still look like they did in the beginning.

The strongest products on chrome are acid based. Mothers has a special wheel cleaner for chrome wheels.

Wash, Light mist with APC,( work the APC), Rinse , clay bar (and work that too with lube), followed by Pr Polish 2 (and work that also by hand or PC if there is room.) hats what I did on some Benz rims that were really brown but pitted rusty. Cant do anything about the deep piited stuff but they really shined after i did them this summr.

Agreed. You can`t beat acid based cleaner on chrome.

Meg`s Hot Rims Chrome wheel cleaner is a good product. I love using NXT on chrome wheels to shine them up after you get them clean. I have used Pro Polish but IMO NXT brings a better shine on chrome.
