    New detailer and spider webbing!!

I had to get my Suburban worked on today (99 GMC) because the fuel pump quit. ANYWAY at my local mom/pop mechanic shop is a detailer. He was just hired a few months ago because he lost his job at the local "detal" shop and the owner is somehow related by marriage to him.

He was working on a 04 Chevy and I walked over and said it looks like you`re gonna have fun getting those spider webs out. He looks at me (kinda with a funny look) and said he can get rid of webs, bird crap and bug spatters with no problems. I looked at him and asked how long he had been detailing. He says for about 12-13 yrs and he knows all the tricks. I thanked him, walked into the office of the owner of shop and informed him that he has no clue. The boss said, as long as the cars shine he is happy and he can usually get them done in about an hr or 2 for a complete detail. I said I guess that means I will no longer be doing his 2 vehicles, he said no way!!!!!!! He wouldn`t let that guy touch his cars!!!!!!!

Made me feel good, and I guess he is keeping the guy happy by giving him a job!!!!

    Well we both laughed.

I just realized that this should be in the detailing stories section, so if the admin wants to move this please do so...

Re: New detailer and spider webbing!!

There are tons of shops around like that. For the most part, I think a lot of people are happy with the results. That because they don`t know any better.

One of the nice things is the guy is helping someone how doesn`t have a job, so that he can feed his family there is a lot of say for that

Yep Beemer, I agree 100% on helping him out. I am still glad that the owner still keeps me for his personal vehicles though.
    Thanks
