    Detailing causes a problem

I went to a car show today but instead of taking my show car I drove my 2000 Ranger and they was sending the traffic to the public parking but when I drove up the guy wanted to charge me to enter he handed me a registration card.
I told him I was not entering the show just came to look around but after watching him wave all those car by I was flattered that he thought my DD was their to enter the show.

Here is the Ranger not really show worthy.

2000 eh? How many miles? You don`t usually find folks who keep their vehicles that long. Nice example of how mechanical maintenance and appearance maintenance can keep these vehicles on the road.

I own 4 Fords and one 2003 S-10. It was only a year ago I picked it up. I had never owned a Chevy before that. I looked for 6 months for the right Ranger to buy for my son to drive and couldn`t find it. Seriously, I came to the conclusion that in that price range people were holding on to the Ranger`s while S-10`s were plentiful.

My Ranger is a 4 door super cab the wife and I just love it for shopping trips always room to haul stuff home something that you can`t do with the compact cars.

    Re: Detailing causes a problem

I just bought my son an `01 Ranger 4 door XLT with 150K on it. Very solid nice vehicle for him to haul his surfboard and gear around. We bought it from a friend who only used it to go back and forth to work, all highway miles. Mechanically it was sound but the truck was dirty. We went and picked it up from the man and to my horror he was "washing it for us." He was using a large brush they sell for washing mobile homes and semi-trucks, oh, and he was using no soap of any kind because it "ruins the paint!" We got it home and did a real cleaning and waxing. Under all the crud the truck looks very good. About a week later my son saw the ex-owner and he wanted to know why we got it painted and replaced the wheels!
