Hard or soft paint?

Hi Everyone, I have a few details coming up and was wanting some knowlege up front about the hardness or softness of the paint. I will be working on a 05 white Ford Explorer, 05 dark blue Ford F150 and a 03 black Jeep Cherokee. Have any of you done paint correction on these models and remember if the clear was hard or soft on these models? TIA.

They all should be relatively soft but not too soft. Easy to work on.

Thanks Troy, I have a polish from a local supplier that is probably equivalent to SSR1. My thought is to use this polish with a green light cut pad on the 9227 and possibly follow up with with my cyclo and no cut polish pads if it is even necessary. This will be my first tomke using my rotary so I will go low and slow and wipe clean and evaluate often. Does this sound about right? If you should have anything to add, Please do.Thanks again, Dave

These cars are old enough that I`m guessing they will need more aggressive polishing than this but it`s a start. If you`re not happy with the results I would step up to some SSR2.5 or Optimum Compound or something similar with an orange pad to do the job. Use the SSR1 equivalent with your cyclo afterward to remove any swirls.

I detailed my buddy`s `07 Ford Focus (Dark Toreador Red) over the summer to get rid of the swirls and whatnot. The clear was pretty soft and easy to work with so I can`t imagine other Ford models being drastically different. It was a nice break from the Germans I was swamped with last year.
