    Holograms

A few weeks ago I put on 2 coats of wax back to back. (this was when my neighbor started with their leaves)

Since then I have washed the car a few times (black).

After the car is dry and in the sun, I can see holograms on the side doors. I know after they started with their leaves I rused and probably used too much pressure in taking off the wax.

How do I get rid of them before spring detail? (without stripping the car and re-buffing)

    Ideas?

Ideas on what caused it (or am i right about too fast and too much pressure?)

I have long felt that many of the "holograms" we see are actually in the wax buildup on a vehicle.
You don`t mention what you used for a wax, but you might try going over an area with the same wax and see if it levels anything out.
I`m not one for layering so I can`t speak from experience, but I have read that applying another layer of wax can soften the first layer because of the solvents in the second layer.
In your case, this might be a good thing.
Maybe even going over an area with a QD would help.

I`ve got soooo much wax on it now.
Really don;t want to strip it and start over, so I may try the add another coat and see what happens.

    Re: Holograms

I really wouldnt call them holograms. Holograms are from the improper use of a rotary buffer. The marks probably look like wash marks. The only way I can see them going away is to polish them out. That happened to my car a few months back and I used PwS with great results. It got out the rubbing marks but stripped the car of wax at the same time. It`s the price you have to pay.

Just work on one panel so you don`t waste a lot of time and effort doing something that isn`t working to the entire vehicle.
Do you have a cleaner wax you feel comfortable with?
Poorboy`s PwC, PwS, Klasse AIO, Meguiar`s ColorX would all be easy to use. Just apply and remove them by hand, then follow up with your wax of choice.
