    New Charger

On cars like the new Charger, that have a large matt back decal area. Is it ok to wax over etc? Anything to worry about? Streaking, white chalk?
My son`s mustang had decal stripes on it but they werent anywhere as coarse as these.

I wouldn`t wax over them if can you help it..maybe even tape it off ... it won`t kill the vinyl, but it won`t be good for it either

Why would waxing a decal effect it?

I can`t imagine with all the cars that have them, that someone is not waxing them

waxes contain petroleum distilates and it could cause lifting

Steve...I would be interested in seeing if OEM decals have a warning about this...I just have to think that there are lots of people that are waxing those decals on new cars.

I could you imagine recall on something like if it was an issue

I would just wash it and keep it clean as it wouldn`t bond with the vinyl and it would probably just be wiped off just like any vinyl lettering or decals that are on any other vehicle

I don`t think in the short term (ie warranty period) that waxes or sealants will harm them, except if there is a tear
