Storage Of Detailing Supplies - Detailing Bags

    some keep in bags
some keep in garage on shelving
    some keep in the basement
    or all over the place

my topic is bags in particular ...

Ive been comparing various bags online and think i may get the autogeek bag for reasons to be named later ...

my current is an open plastic tupperware cheap flimsy half box thing measuring roughly
    16in L x 10in W x 6in H = 930 Sq. In.

    Autogeek`s bag measures 17 x 9 x 13 = 1989 Sq. In. A++ here so far the most storage volume I have seen yet !

    Mothers®/Foose Design® Detail Bag measures approximately 12"x14"x7" = 1176 Sq. In.
this looks like a cool bag but on the outside doesnt give too much external storage space and looks like a cooler on roids with bigger pockets, also a $40 price tag same as autogeek bag .

As for Cooler bags and lunch pails etc some I have seen and might work out well I would have to look in stores for this type of thing but my main concern is Length and Width, lastly height because i dont care if bottles stick out i just want to keep as much in there as possible without overfilling it with stuff i dont need when I am on the go !

any other detail bags out there?
hope my volume calculations assist anyone in looking at buying a "detailers bag" ..

In another thread you started on the same topic a few days ago, I posted a picture of a can cooler. Some can coolers are tall to allow talll bottles and still close it up. You can go to a walmart and target to see all different sizes. If you want something now, get something cheap like a cooler type and then keep looking for something more specialized.

I use 12 inch X 16 foot boards for shelves in my garage. I have three shelves and most bottles can go 4 deep on the shelf and all three shelves are full plus a large metal cabinet.

When I go to the car show I take my Autogeek bag plus a plastic clothes hamper it is 16 X 25 and 12 " deep. Lot of options it depends on how many supplies you plan on having and if you need to be Mobile or do everything at home.

I have a plastic beer case in the clothes hamper and it holds the bottles secure so they will not fall over and still has room for towels and misc. items.
You can find nice big hamper cheap at Wally World.

I use an igloo28 cooler for carrying product and an inexpensive tool bag W/ my rotary and PC in my trunk. Then I also have shelves in my basement for additional products.

Here`s a thought. It wouldn`t have the large open outside pockets that AG`s bag has but it might work. I see range bags (shooting) available in large sizes all the time from places like cheaper than dirt and many other places. I`m sure the size of these pistol bags are as big and quite a bit bigger than the size of bag we`ve talked about in this thread. It might be worth a shot to look. Many of these bags are quite well made and in the $25 range.

I`ve got the Autogeek one and I love it. I was just using big tote bins and the only bag I ever used was the one that came with my UDM. I can put my FLEX and PC in that bag when I go places. The Autogeek one is absolutely perfect though. It is the exterior pockets that really make it worthwhile. It fits round bottles perfectly, but I need to test it with the flask bottles like what Four Star uses. I`ll have to load it up and do a glamour shoot with it.

the only downside to the autogeek bag IMO is the L x W being almost identical to my current flimsy crap piece 17x9ish vs 10x16 ish

Re: Storage Of Detailing Supplies - Detailing Bags

With the bottles in the pockets my AG bag is
    14 X 20 over all
The pockets will hold round or the bottles like 4 star or Megs. have.
I have 4 soft sided bags but stopped using them after getting the AG you need something with a frame or else everything just gets in a hell of a mess when you lift it.
If you want a less expensive bag check out Harbor Freight they have all kinds some even have wheels and most are less then 20 bucks
