    Charging

Can anyone tell me what would be like a ballpark figure on just doing seats and carpeting in a car, mini van etc. I called a local place and they told me they would have to see it to give a price. I normally clean carpets in housing and commercial buildings. I have been getting alot of people asking to do there autos, RVS , boats etc. I charge per sq ft in the home but i am lost when they ask me to do this type of work. Any help would be great. Thanks Stan

Its based off an hourly rate what are you charging for housing?

I would caution you on taking many if any of these car jobs...The carpet and seats are a very small part of the over all detail...I can`t see much money in it for you considering time to get there setup...tear down and cleanup...my full details are $200 and up...if I just did the carpets and seats I would be about $60.....that`s not worth my time IMO

actually with Stan`s setup , which i believe is van mounted ..it`s all ready to go and he could be in and out within an hour and charge $60-$100 and make it a specialty for not only individuals but for other detailers and shops that don`t want to invest in an extractor or waste their time scrubbing carpets and seats...just a thought

    Re: Charging

Brenton, You have a nice website. Very informative. I do have a truckmount and portables and low moisture tools at my disposal. These people just say to me while your here can you do this. I do my own and have did a few for friends more or less. Just checking in to the good the bad and ugly parts to this. I know residetial and commercial carpet cleaning is a dog eat dog world. Lotsa lowballers out there. Thanks for all the info. Going to keep lurking around on the forum. Might be able to give some info and get some at the same time. Always learning. Thanks again Stan
