    Can this be cleaned?

Just bought a 2014 Ford Focus, Oxford White. The bumper cover and other painted plastic parts like the mirror caps appear to be permanently stained by bug splatters.

I used a Mothers Clay bar, Meguiars 105 with a Porter Cable Polisher and the most aggressive Lake Country pad that I have.

I`m assuming that this probably can`t be improved upon much, if at all?

Did it look worse before you polished it?

Sorry, forgot to say that the clay bar and polish did not appear to improve any of it.

The pad is a "coarse green" 78-34650DA CCS Coarse, the porter cable speed was on 5. It worked great on removing paint scuffs on the painted metal body parts. On scuffs and the splatters above, I go over the area with the pad flat, if that doesn`t work, then tilt it and work the edge of the pad into the scuff.

All got the horse before the cart. Use a 30-60X magnifier first to see if the bug acids have eaten deep in the paint film. Often no amount of compounding, etcis going to replace paint eaten away.
