    Cordless DA Polisher

Looking for a decent cordless polisher. It will be used once a year, if that. Was considering the SPTA 20V. It`s pretty inexpensive, which makes me wonder how good it is.

    Re: Cordless DA Polisher

I have a few cordless Flex polishers that I wouldn’t recommend to you due to cost. But I also wouldn’t recommend a cordless polisher for year if the batteries wouldn’t be used for anything else as batteries start to die as soon as they are made. If you already have a Ryobi or similar cordless tool system then I’d see if they have a DA polisher for your battery system. But otherwise,I would not recommend a tool with batteries that will be utilized so infrequently. I’d really recommend a corded polisher such as the Griots series or the inexpensive mainstay, Porter Cable 7424.

What are you going to be using it for?
They sell an electrical powered one too..

I have a Griot`s corded polisher. It`s fine but was looking for something I could take with me to one of the DIY car wash bays to work on when my garage/driveway is unavailable.

Here’s another thing to think about. With your corded polisher, how long does it take you to polish yearly? You’re only going to be able to get 45-60 min per battery depending on the machine and on how many breaks you take. So you’d only be able to get about 2 hours of polishing done per session assuming two batteries and no way to recharge. It takes me a lot longer to polish.

CleanIt - Ok, I get it ! Thanks..

When I look at that machine, it looks fine, but battery life and actual power under the load is something to consider if you need to..
I only know of 1 person who uses that machine but it is electric powered..

I only use electrical powered machines..

From what I have read on this Forum alone, there seems to be a lot of good feedback about the Flex line of battery powered units, but those German products do cost more for sure..

    Good luck with this !

Thanks Dan and dgage. You helped me make up my mind. I`ll stick with my corded one. It wouldn`t make much sense if I`m only using it once per year.
