Hello,
Bird droppings etched my car paint.
I tried to polish by hand using Meguiars Polishing Compund, but it didn’t help.
How can I remove it? Any tips please?
See the attached pictures.
Thanks!

Don`t even need a good magnifier to see the clear is cracked down into the base coat..Not actually fixable by any polishing.

Should I use wet sand and then compund/polish?

Not really going to help, if anything, in a few months will be worse.
Understand ?? The paint in that spot is cracked down below the clear, it`s chemical structure is compromised, only a trip to the body shop will do a real fix.

Following up on Ketch`s comments..which are, of course, spot-on...I`d say that I have utterly compromised clear on my beaters that has *NOT* gotten appreciably worse over the course of...gee, well over a decade now. BUT...that`s just my experience and those vehicles don`t sit in the sun for all that long, so YMMV in a big way.
At least do something to neutralize the acids...yeah, even after this long...do a tiny bit of polishing to smooth things out, and then LSP the [crap] out of it, preferably with something that resists UV (although I just use FK1000P and keep my fingers crossed).
Yeah, it needs repainted to be "right", but maybe it can be "OK" without doing that, at least for a little while.
EDIT: I absolutely would *NOT* wetsand it!! (How`s that for emphasis ) Just use the compound then polish. You don`t want to get too awfully aggressive with paint that`s already, uhm...killed. Get something alkaline on there to neutralize the acids and then just pamper it until you can`t stand it any more and spring for the paintwork.
