    Rubber trim protection.

I was really excited with how well I heard the cerakote trim works at preserving. But what about rubber components around the windows and to preserve those ? I am guessing c quartz that I have won’t be good for the rubber trim or will it ?

I`ll be watching this thread! Wondering whether something will prove (markedly) superior to the Ultima T&TG+ I`m still using...

The test project farm did on YouTube for plastic trim was fantastic.

I am sold on Cerakote. Now I’m just wondering if it’s good for the rubber as well.

I have this. I use this on the weather stripping. Not sure if it’s meant for the rubber exterior window trim.

IME the Gummi sticks do not last when used on exterior stuff, not even the somewhat superior Wurth one (nor that product in its spray version). Good for the seals that *don`t* get exposed, but that`s about it IME.

What does it look like...very/somewhat/not shiny?

Not that I expect to use up all my UTTG+ in this lifetime, but I`m still wondering...

Agree. I find it great on the German door seals that tend to get dry and "creaky" over time. I couldn`t imagine applying it anywhere else.

Ah, so it`s not just my ;93 Audi that gets like that (Well, that and the Tahoe, but that thing.. I expect it to make rude noises )

Not at all. With my first BMW, I thought it was a BMW quirk since I`d only owned American and Japanese cars previously. Then I had a VW start making the same noises, and in extreme cold, my current BMW does it as well. I scratch it up to being a German car quirk vs. something unique to any one brand. I will admit it isn`t nearly as bad on my VW or my current BMW as it was on my first one, a `99 E46 3-series. I was constantly using Gummi Pfledge on that car, but on the newer vehicles, it`s only occasional and usually in the depths of a cold, dry spell in winter.
