    Another newbie question

I understand the purpose of foam sprayers. You can use it to foam your car to help pre-clean and to not have to use a complete 2 bucket method of you do not want to. You could also use it to foam tire, wheels, etc.

What is the purpose of a product like the IK multi 2 pro sprayer? (Again not the foam sprayer, just the multi sprayer)

AFAIK the supposed advantage is that you press a button/trigger to spray until you release same (sorta like aerosols), instead of "pumping" the sprayer constantly with each pump delivering one brief spritz of product.

I have one such sprayer, but it didn`t impress me as much as they apparently do others.

I put premixed rinseless wash (one at wash strength and one at waterless wash strength) in them for pre-rinsing, wetting door jams, engine bays, etc. I use the waterless wash for bugs and the like, but will use the rinseless wash for knocking off dust. Makes it easier to spray even thin chemicals without having to constantly pump a spray trigger.

For some reason, I find it easier to control the output with the old/manual-pump ones. Probably just familiarity...

I have both types of sprayers, to answer what the the regular`s good for, products you don`t want to foam. A QD or Clay Lube you wouldn`t want to foam. Also, regular you can adjust the tip and get anything from a thin stream to a fan. I have 3 brands of foamers, and you get one setting, a super wide fan spray. Which isn`t ideal in all situations. I have both foaming and regular from IK, Kwazar & Marolex. Someone here can answer my question, which might help you. Can you put acidic chemicals in the IK foamer? That I don`t know, but it could be another reason to use a regular multi-sprayer.

Waterless wash, carpet cleaner (when doing a full carpet extraction, degreaser for engines or wheelwells/door jambs. Anything you will have to spray a lot of surface area and dont want to build the forearm muscles.
