    What is Quick Detailer for?

I noticed a patch of dirt on my car and wanted to give it a quick spot clean. I had on my shelf a choice of Waterless Wash and Quick Detailer, and it occurred to me that I don`t fully grasp the difference between the two, regardless of specific brands. Is QD appropriate for, say, cleaning off a mud splash? Or is it only meant to apply to a clean car to bring out shine?

Traditional QDs are only really effective on garage dust or as a drying aid. Waterless wash is superior for removing dirt.

I only use QDs for light dust (very light) and fingerprints.

I agree with the above: light dust, finger prints and to give the finishing touch on a freshly waxed/sealed surface. Adams Detail Spray has been my go to for years. Poorboys S&W is great for what you need, hope this helps!

    What is Quick Detailer for?

According to manufacturers, a QD is anything from a waterless wash to an sio2 spray sealant. It has become a catch all term for a product’s ease of use as opposed to its function.

First and foremost, do some research or talk to the manufacturer/reseller before investing in any QD to ensure it meets your needs.

Secondly, a QD should only be for what others have mentioned; a light dust cleaner & gloss enhancer without protection.

Looking forward to when the term is regulated.
