Hey guys , so today I coated my car with cquartz uk..now for after care can I wash with regular car soap? I have meguiars hyper wash also I like to do waterless washes here and there I have Ultima acrylic waterless wash. Would this be ok to use as well? I know I`m not supposed to wash it for 7 days

Hyper wash is fine. I am sure that waterless wash will be fine. I have not used that specific waterless wash but if it leaves some protection behind you may or may not see the properties of it versus the coating.

My maintenance for cquartz is wash with a shampoo that leaves nothing behind like hyper wash. Then I use EcH2O as a drying aid. I do not use reload although that is an option.

Carpro Reset or some equivalent can help to freshen things up periodically.

Foam with Gyeon Foam, wash with Gyeon Bathe, dry with Griots PFM, quick wipedown with Overcoat or Cosmic Spritz, sit down and enjoy a clean, black for 3-5 minutes until dust starts to settle on it, hang head and weep.

    Re: Coating aftercare question

I forgot to mention that I don`t particularly top my coatings with a "maintenance" topper which is why I mentioned just using EcH2O. It does not interfere with the hydrophobic properties of the base layer coatings like a topper. I personally prefer the hydrophobic properties of the base layer coating. That is just personal preference as others like to use something on top.

I would recommend a decontamination wash at some point.

Is Reset a decon wash, or what does it do differently than Hyper Wash to bring coating properties back?

    Re: Coating aftercare question

I would switch out the Ultima Acrylic Waterless Wash. It leaves an acrylic protection behind and change the properties of your coating. Carpro Ech2o and McKees 37 N-914 rinseless wash that also can be diluted to waterless wash and Poorboy`s Spray and Wipe is also as N-914 that don`t leave anything behind. Also Wolfgang über waterless wash seems to be working with coatings even if it leaves some glossenhancer behind.

For maintance toppers carpro has reload and the hydro2 products. One thing that is rather new and is a top coating for cquarts coatings is carpro Gliss and. Gliss gets your coating even more hydrophobic and also gets you a smooth feeling when touched.

Then you can experiment with other brands of sio2 products and some with tio2 that often gets your metallic flakes to pop.
