I Really Don`t Want To Sound Sexist, but...

Did you ever notice how women love to touch glass? Or is it just me? They use the glass to close the doors, they touch the glass when they point to something from inside the car. I don`t know. Sorry, but I`m just asking.

I don`t recall my wife touching glass, but my daughter can`t keep her hands off her window in my truck to save her life lol

I think you are just unlucky. My wife is not a “glass toucher”.

My Mom was the one who always taught me to keep my hands off the glass

I would rather them touch the glass while shutting the door than the freshly polished paint but still just wait for me to open and close the door

I definitely would not relate this specifically to a gender and it’s not just glass. I have definitely noticed that people who aren’t what you’d call “Car Guys/Car Peeps” sure can use freshly polished, soft paint B-Pillars to close doors. Now one place where I do notice something that seems gender specific is long fingernails under the door pulls. I’ve told my wife and my daughters that they should start biting their nails.

It may be the fault of the glass because it is not so overwhelmingly clean that they invite touching. Similar to that yard that everyone knows to Don`t Park on the Grass.

first time any woman steps onto the pasenger seat of my car...as I open the door for her I show how she should shut it..the ones that listen, they stay around longer...just seems to work that way

If a guy friend is riding in my car, then obviously I`m not opening the door for them, but I can tell you that much less % women leave marks on my glass when they get out of my car... correlation, unsure

I had to QUICKLY teach my son not to use his FOOT or his BUTT to close the door on my Camaro when his arms are full . Now he mostly uses the edge of the glass, which I can deal with - a quick wipe with a MF and all fingerprints are gone.

I help a female friend of mine with computer problems (which are frequent because she is not a techie), and she has a habit of pointing at stuff on the screen with her finger and poking the screen, hard enough that the colors of the LCD change as she does it. Drives me nuts. I`m surprised she hasn`t permanently damaged the screen of her laptop.

Not much of a problem with women touching the glass. Kids and the dogs nose, that`s a different story.

Huh, the women I know don`t do stuff like that.

But yeah, the dogs have me cleaning the inside of the windows after every outing, and some house windows are pretty much done daily.

And I made it through this post without commenting on [any sentence that starts with "I don`t mean to sound sexist"]. Well, almost

Exactly, better the glass than the paint.

Yeah - women love to dirty cars up...But, to be honest - when I`m out with a women or parked in some deserted parking lot with one - I`m not really caring about that lol. The back seat of my truck may not be too clean right now...with... ban ban ban me if I type it..I`ll take it man..

Seen MANY MANY Males do this too.

On my 89 Firebird (no window frame just bare glass) if you close my heavy ass door by pushing my glass you will not ride in it ever again and are told so from the beginning of the trip. I prefer you use the plastic weatherstrip where the window meets the door, but the paint would be a better choice then breaking the glass on that car IMO.
