    South Florida mold issue?

I live in South Florida and park my car outside. There are these black spots that accumulate over time on my car. I believe the larger ones are mold and can be washed off with a little elbow grease. It`s the little ones that are more like dots. They harden and are very hard to just wash off. I can "scrape" them off with my thumbnail, but that would be a pretty tedious task as these dots are all over my car.

Any ideas on maybe a brush I could use or something that may soften them up without wrecking the paint job?

    Thanks for reading

Are you parking in a wooded area or near mulch?
It almost sounds like you have an Artillary Fungus shooting spores at your shiney car.

I`ve seen this on my neighbor`s white van that they never clean. I would try to use CarPro Tar X, to try to remove/kill the mold/fungus. Then I would polish and then seal/protect the paint so you won`t get any further mold that will attach itself to the paint. If it does start to grow on there again, it will be much easier to clean since you have a wax/paint sealant on the car.

Is this what some of it looks like??

If it is, I got it off with PB bug squash, PB apc, and soapy bug micro (you could use the bug sponge)

I tried to upload a picture but ran into errors.

The view area on the picture is probably about 10 inches across to give you an idea of the size of the black dots. I`m not entirely sure it`s mold, just my best guess. All I know is that I can scratch them off with my thumbnail, but elbow grease is much tougher.

Btw, someone at the local auto store suggested Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover. It had zero effect.

I read to try corn oil on another site.
    Definitely shotgun fungus.
Find where it`s shooting from or it will continue.

I had it on my cars, vinyl siding, take a look at your eaves too, it shoots over 6 feet. I had to remove all mulch. If your in a wooded area it comes from the rotting stuff on the ground.

I remember this type of stuff when I had a new mulch put down at my old house.

I used the pb bug micro with pb bug squash and apc after a foam soak.

I live in a wooded are but park pretty far from the woods. Unfortunately, I`m right next to a few mulch beds

    Thanks for the replies.
