    Meguiars #40

I must say... i have been trying different products on the dash of my 01 mustang and i have finally found the product of choice. Meguiars #40 vinyl and rubber. Gives a really nice "clean" new look without too much shine and the smell is not too bad either. It could be improved with maybe some new car scent mixed in, but after using it on friday, it has a nice little linger to it. Here are a couple of pics which may help explain the clean but not too much shine.

Yes, #40 is great. I once bought a gallon of it. IT has a nice leathery smell, not to glossy, and has great cleaning abilities. I used to use it on interiors that didnt need an apc cleaning prior to dressing. The #40 did 2 steps in one for me. Make sure to try it on your tires too! #40 gives a very nice even shine to tires, with nice durability.

Yep i am also a huge fan of the #40 and have been using it for years both on my cars and boats. Doesn`t work so well on the new Mustang though so I still need to find something to use for it.

I think it is a little more greasy than NL but it cleans better. The smell is very different but neither smell bad... So for just a dressing NL may get the nod but for cleaning and protecting, you can`t go wrong with #40. Pep Boys and such places should have it...

I like #40 a lot too. It cleans well, has a non streak finish, and gives you that `new car smell`. If I had to pick my favorite 2-3 Meg`s products, #40 would be at the top of the list.

Isn`t #39 similar to #40? What is the difference?

Yeah, this is the reason why I like it so much. I makes the interior look clean and new without being shiny and slick. A few years ago I picked up a bottle of this by accident. I ended up sticking it on the shelf until I ran out of regular stuff and had to use it. I`ve been hooked ever since.

awsome thread i got started here... lol.. from what i have read there is very lil difference between 39 and 40. i have never used 39 before, but i read that it is not as friendly on plastics. As far as getting #40. here is a site to find a local PBE store in your area....

No similarity at all. #39 is a pure cleaner and #40 is a dressing with some cleaning ability. You would use #39 as a pre treatment to #40 when the surface you are working on is in need of cleaning that is beyond the cleaning abilities of #40.

Thank you. So how much cleaning ability does #40 have? Is it strictly for interiors that are really clean?

It cleans deep down dirt especially if you use a stiff bristled brush.
