    Dash Repair?

Has anyone tried to fill or fix any cracks in plastic dashboards? We have a 4 inch long crack on the dash of our motorhome and was wondering if anyone has fixed this problem before? I haven`t really seen any dash repair kits that fill in the cracks. Any ideas?

The only ones that I have seen are from JC Whitney and Rightlook:
    http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...001151/c-10101

    http://www.rightlook.com/index.asp?P...TS&Category=52

With the rightlook one what products would I need? Thanks for any help!

I would call your local dealerships and ask who they use for this type of stuff...The chances are they have a mobile guy the comes out and dose this...I have a local guy here and he is really great....Matching the colors and making it look good are not easy.....I`ve watched this guy work and it a science if you ask me...You might also look at the higher end used car lots they will have one for sure....that`s my .02

Yeah, the color matching was my only concern as well. I`ll check around locally and hopefully will find someone. Thanks for the help.

I don`t know if it is an option in your situation, but some years ago rather than fixing a cracked dash on a Datsun P/U, I purchased a dash coverlay. No, not one of those carpeted things, but an ABS plastic that was made-to-fit for the specific vehicle. It lasted longer than the orginal dash and looked everybit as good. Without close (very close) examination you couldn`t even tell it was there. No worry about color matching, grain matching and future repairs.

I could be wrong but I don`t think those are made for motor homes....I have seen a few in cars and they are great as a replacement for the OEM
