    Infiniti paint?

What can you tell me about the paint on the Infiniti G35. Is the paint hard, soft? Mar sensitve? Chip sensitive? Is the paint easy to maintain? Any info would be helpful.

I annot say exactly, but I have heard that the paint on Infiniti`s is really good. I have seen a lot of them that look excellent. One of the members of the swim team has one and they take pretty good care of it. I say pretty good, but to the rest of th world it is probably excellent care. Their Infiniti is still looking beautiful. So, I think with the right care, it will always look good.

    Re: Infiniti paint?

I have a black 03 G35 sedan. Before that I had a black G35 coupe - the initial paint quality is good, has very little orange peel and is nice and smooth, but it is soft and thin. You *will* get chips on the front of your car if you don`t have a clear bra. If you have a dark color`d G35 it is 100% worth investing in the bra. If it`s a light color the choice is more difficult. The paint is very easy to work on because it is relatively soft, but at the same time you`ll notice a lot of micromarring if you`re not careful. What color is your G35? That will have a lot to do with how you maintain it.

Just as an example of how many chips you can expect if you`re not careful/don`t get a clearbra - this was my car the week after I bought it (used). The previous owner did not have a clear bra and did not take care of the paint. Every white dot you see is a chip. I`m not trying to freak you out - just letting you know that Nissan paint is pretty chip sensitive. If you want more info check out g35driver.com

Agreed... I commuted via interstate for 2 hrs round trip everday for 6 months to work, and my black Altima`s paint looks much similar.... chips abound.

    Picus,
The car is not mine, but I will be maintaining the finish. The car will be a 2006 G35 sedan, black on black.

Thanks for the info about Infiniti and nissan paint. I will pass the info on about clear bra. This will give a chance to work on skill on black paint.

Ah, ok. Well the extent of what you need to do will be dependant on the owners care of his/her car. You probably will see a lot of micro-marring from general use (people rubbing against the car, key scratches, etc...). Look for chips near wheel wells, you`ll get them and if you don`t touch them up right away they will rust. Mine had some chips with rust in the wells. As for the front of the car, all you can do is stress to the person that for $600 to do all leading edges the clear bra is a steal. It will save him/her $600 of grief and work in the first year, guaranteed.

    Good luck and have fun!

I have two `03 black G35`s, sedan and coupe, both have a clear. My fathers black `04 sedan has a clear, too. Maybe you`re thinking of Lexus?
