Can you guide me on this engine detail?!? PART DUEX

I want to say thanks to everyone that helped me out on my last thread. I had a pretty decent looking engine with the exception of dust and gime in hard to reach areas. I had never really given the engine a real detail and it was starting to show. Wipe downs only last soo long.

Pretty much all I did was cover the alternator and the battery plug that extends from the trunk into the left part of the engine with aluminum foil. I liked the aluminum foil since it let me mold it and cover the areas needed.

    -Rinsed

-Meguairs Safe-D Degreaser 9:1 on all parts including under part of hood.

    - Let sit for 45 seconds.

-Agitated wite a tire brush and scrubbed hard to reach areas with a black magic spoke brush.

    -Rinsed using a light spray.

    -Ran engine for 10 minutes.

    -Washed my car

-Came back and wiped down all plastics

-Dressed Plastic Coverings with PB Trim Restorer

-Dressed all hard to reach areas with Stoners Trim Shine

    BEFORE:

again, the engine was not bad to begin with but try to notice the harder reach areas. They are dusty and dirty and really didn`t give it a detailed look.

Sweet job...not as painful as you thought eh? To maintain you should just be able to spray down with just water or some of you favorite car wash mixed with water in a spray bottle every other time you wash the car. Keeping it clean is definately easier than cleaning it.

Like everyone said, it didn`t look bad before, but.....
    It looks really great after.
Maybe it was worth the effort.
    Good job.

way to jump off the deep end ........
engines for some reason intimidate everyone.....just use common sense and a willingness to do it
way to go it looks great

Good job, is it recommeded to use TR as the dressing under the hood? It`s flammable :emlaugh: ,I saw it on the label and decided against using it there
