    Vinylex vs. 303 Protectant

I have a bottle of each. What are people`s experiences with either for interior and exterior detailing? This would include vinyl (dashes, back of seats, etc.) as well as exterior rubber and hard (black) plastic trim.

    Thanks,
    Neil

I`ve not used the 303 but the vinylex is a great product, it does shine a lot but that`s what I like

Another vote for the matte look of the 303. The fact that it has UV protection is a plus, too. Never used Vinylex, but if it leaves a shiny finish, I don`t like it.:p

On the paint, man. Not on the tires or the dash. It took me an hour to scrub the shiny tire dressing off of 4 new tires after the tire shop messed them up with some shiny crap. Obviously someone likes it since they sell the heck out of the shiny stuff.

I`m new to the site and just tried 303 and Vinylex for the first time because of the recommendations I`ve read and, how`s this for a "poltically correct answer", I like them both! (for different reasons):

303 - for the interior, on dash, doors and leather seats too! Gives a slight satin sheen, nothing slick and greasy. Doesn`t attract dust.

Vinylex - on the tires, and I must say that of all the tire dressings I`ve used I think I like the Vinylex the best. Gives a nice satin sheen. Just what I`ve been looking for. If you want the "wet look" then Vinylex isn`t for you.

Just my opinion but I wouldn`t use Vinylex on the interior and I don`t think 303 gives enough sheen to the tires.

This is a perfect example of why there are so many different products on the market. The 303 look is just what I was looking for on the tires.
Like I said, the shiny stuff sure is popular, though.

charles one thing about Vinylex, it is only slightly more glossy than 303 and not at all like armor all or meg`s natural shine. Also you can buff out the shine of Vinylex giving it almost the same look as 303. I like both and depends on the situation. My own black interior I use 303 especially like it on the black leather.

I offer two types of finishes one the I use Vinlyex for the high gloosy shine and a 3M product that offers a natural type of finish. I let the customer tell me what they like

But what about interior and exterior durability? Will 303 wash off (I think I saw that in a post somewhere) if I use it on exterior trim (hard and soft rubber)? And what about that hard black plastic that is around windshields and rear windows?

I use Stoner`s Trim Shine on the outside trim, Vinylex isn`t bad, it just doesn`t last quite as long. I do the trim before I do the paint, that way the trim cleans up nice.
