So let me ask you this.... has anyone worked on a boat gel coat? I just want to know if it takes the same steps as a car finish would (compound, polish, wax) I`m guessing they have specific product for that type of finish. any comments?

There will probably be a couple of people answer you that have a lot of experience with boats. I think we have at least a couple that specialize in boats.
I have used automotive products with good result over the years, but have recently started using Meguiar`s Flagship line for a wax after my Klasse AIO.
My personal boat is pretty well cared for and it doesn`t take a lot to keep it looking decent. Some can be a real challenge.

thanks charles, good advice. I`ve been researching online about it and it is pretty similar to auto detailing.
I did a crownliner for a while and used all the car products that I had.....I did read that some boat care products can be more water resident, but the customer that I had just wanted a clean boat and I was doing it often.
I used SSR2.5 and 1 on the lower part of the hull then P-w-C for the whole boat. Then I used PB EX and topped with paste wax... It looked great the paste wax was for the bling bling factor more than anything
