DID the wool baby... it was slow as you would expect so make sure your using a product that doesn`t dry(pro polish) and just expect to take a long time with it. I used a black heavy cut pad along with a blue polishing pad and it didn`t seem to hurt the paint and I really didn`t see any hazing under the 500w halo. If your trying to NOT burn the paint and you have a ton of time I would say go for it but lighten up on the pressure so the pad spins more not jiggles.

Re: Wool pads on a PC?

    Interesting........

I`ve used a 6 inch hook & loop wool pad on the PC for compounding, and had a ton of marring clean up to deal with (on a black finish) -much more so vs. using a yellow compounding pad.

I`ve had much better luck with wool on the rotary and cyclo.

IMO, foam pads work much better with the PC.

Well it could be product also.. we know what i was using... BIG O compund which has a LONG LONG work time.. If your using something that needs the pure heat and speed of the rotary your going to deal with maring that is not going to be fun but using pro-polish or something like that (big O) you`ll see a difference

-No need to look at it like that. Give it a shot! I haven`t tried it with the Optimum compound.

I have the lambs wool leveling pad from properauto and several from 3M. I`ve used the properauto pad via PC with Menzerna Power Gloss (really not the best choice for the PC IMO) and SSR3. For me, the cyclo/rotary are much more effective with wool, when compared to the PC. On the PC, I get much better results using 6" Lake Country Hi-Gloss Orange Cut or Yellow Cut foam pads.
