Did I come to the right place?

I hear that there are some fanatical detailers here , so I`ve come to ask your help. As a summer job, I am trying to detail cars. I want to really wow my customers, but I`m not sure what products to use. I can do a very good job as far as washing, spray wax, and interior goes, but am unsure what to do about regular waxing. I am supposed to purchase a porter cable right? Anyway, if anyone feels up to it, could you assemble an entire car care kit for me? Or, jsut make a suggestion for a few products. Any help is much appreciated.

I let some of the others assemble a kit for you.

    Here`s what I would recommend...

Take you time and learn how to pay attention to how the tools and products are doing (or not doing) their job.

Be meticulous with every step you take.

Learn how paint reacts to certain products.

Get some good illuminated magnification to check your work.

Treat every detail like it is going to be entered in a Car show! As you get better... you will get faster at doing incredible work. It will start coming natural, as you will know what to expect and when to expect it.

    Process, procedure and passion!

    Good luck.

One thing I can suggest is that you read everything you can on this site. If you are serious about detailing, it is well worth the time to soak up all of the info you can. This way you will see what works for others. After reading so many opinions and looking at so many finished products, you should be able to take what they did and get your own techniques from what you have read and seen.

Before starting a business, I would also suggest that you wait until you get proficient at using some of the professional tools on your own car.

The stang looks pretty good. With some practice, you could really get that silver to pop. Definately not too shabby for spray wax though. Don`t you love how the rear deck lid and bumber collect all that dust and water?

    nice stang here`s mine

my paint is pretty rough, but hopefully soon i`ll be able to get a PC and work with it. I`ve been on this site for like a month, and have learned soo much, i just keep reading, and asking questions, i assembled a list of products, kinda a begginers list for myself, and have been going from there. If you want it i can email it to you, let me know.

01GTARM that looks identical to the Mustang I used to have, right down to not having the rubbing strips on the doors. A great car, but I found a deal on a 2003 Navigator I coulsnt pass up. Good luck with the pony.
