MR CLEAN MAGIC ERASER WHEEL & TIRE ERASER?

I used the MR. CLEAN MAGIC ERASER at home - love these things - guys, if you or your other half (if you have one) hasn`t tried them - they are awesome - I have BOXES!

Anyhow, recently at TARGE` I noticed they had MR CLEAN MAGIC ERASER WHEEL & TIRE - I don`t see any difference between the one I have and this - just that the price is more.

My OH uses them on his leather interior, he loves them (not sure how it effects the leather though) but I never thought about using them for tires. On the one for the tires they say:

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Wheel & Tire cleans your wheels and tires like you never thought you could*. Erase brake dust, tough grime, and more.

    * Do not use on painted finish of wheels or vehicle body.

Has anyone tried them on their tires???

Just in case anyone wants to try the regular one, here`s a link to sign up for a FREE SAMPLE:

I would think they might could be used well for cleaning white lettering on tires. I hihgly doubt I would ever use one on my wheels....those things are pretty abrasive and would most likely cause marring (hence the warning of not using on painted surfaces). Just my $.02.
I still don`t believe in grit guards.

They do a superb job on plastic trim to clean it.

If you don`t want to buy the GR-40 trim cleaner from Top of the Line. I HIGHLY suggest this stuff. Liz`s Saab trim has never looked better. Top it off with PB TS and your trim looks better than new...no kidding...6 year old car.

I have tried it last week on one of my tires. The one for tires doesn`t have the extra pad and it shreaded into pieces. Won`t be buying that again. But may look at the regular one. could be good for interior cleaning.

I used the eraser to clean up some metal endlinks I got used from ebay. They cam all dirty and stained the the magic eraser cleaned them up really nice. I would not use them on an apperance part of my car such as wheels though.

Here are the endlinks after the cleaning:

i keep a pack of mr clean magic eraser in my arsenal all the time. mainly for wax on trim or stubborn baked on brake dust. i on the other owuldnt use it for wheel/tire cleaning mainly because the product breaks up rather quickly.

    AGAIN, only for spot treatments!

im assumming the wheel and tire eraser are of the same texture

I agree these things are great in the house...they take off markers and crayons from walls with just a little water...

Unless your wheels are Chrome or Aluminum I wouldn`t use it on wheels as Clearcoat is paint...

For tires a brush and APC would be much more cost effective:hippi

Just to add, I would be very careful about using them on
leathers. Most leathers are painted, so there is the risk of
removing or discoloring. Best to test an unconspicous
    area just to be sure.

Other than that, I love the eraser on textured trim. It
knocks out polish and wax stains like you would not
believe. The erasers remove oxidation real quick too.

    Re: MR CLEAN MAGIC ERASER

I bought a box at Costco for spotting use on plastic trim. I have found them to be very effective on door panels where leather soled (dress) shoes have left streaks. I have also found that when working a stubborn area they tend to discolor the plastic a little, not just transfer sponge material.

Yup, I noticed the wheel & tire version of the magic eraser and it just seems just like the regular version with an inflated price tag and without the blue backing side. Could be wrong but I think its all marketing.

Re: MR CLEAN MAGIC ERASER WHEEL & TIRE ERASER?

I actually don`t like the MR. CLEAN ME with the blue on it. I ended up buying the all white ones. They`re great in the house - but not on the walls, does something funky, at least to mine. My kids bathroom tub has those backed on anit-slip treads - NOTHING would get those things clean - nothing til MR CLEAN!

Definitely have to be careful with them and try them in an inconspicuous place - but those things are truly amazing!!!!

I think the TIRE ones are the same - they must think the masses are stupid:confused

Okay just my two cents - these things can take primer off dry wall - would you use them on your wheels??

Re: MR CLEAN MAGIC ERASER WHEEL & TIRE ERASER?

I can attest to the fact that they absolutely will alter your wall - at least my eggshell paint is different - found out the hard way - love them for other places around the house.

BUT, they are touting the same plain white ones now for the tires - not saying they are good, but you`d think a big company like that wouldn`t suggest their product for a particular application without having tested them - otherwise they`d be getting SUED for having people ruin their tires. But then again, it`s America - anything goes these days:rolleyes

Re: MR CLEAN MAGIC ERASER WHEEL & TIRE ERASER?

I have used the mrs clean magic eraser on my whole tan leather interior and it has not scratched anything...the textured leather door panels came out excellent. Also great for getting out the scuffs from dress shoes as someone else noted. After i use the magic eraser i follow up with zaino cleaner to get any residue off the seats then use the zaino leather conditioner. Seats have never looked better!

My OH does the exact same thing on the tan leather in his caddy and says nothing is better!
