You don`t want to botch up the cleaning of photographic equipment ;) Check out THESE FOLKS (http://www.photosol.com/) for cleaning supplies.

Edit: Photographic Solutions is closed until 12/16 or so for vacation.

A friend just got one today, we where looking at it real quick and could not find out how to view your subject before taking the pic on the rear display. Can this be done?

Did you get the rebate/s with it?

That relly take the idea of the Veiw finder out of it. As far as i know i read the whole book and found no where a botten to do that.

I got a little cleaning kit with the cammera So i`ll bust that out it is most likely on the lens.

PS two hints get the UV filter for your lens (if it take a beating it`s much easier to replace a $10 filter then a $150 lens)

and use the protective covers for PDS to cover your displays so those don`t take a hit.

It`s not a "feature" that DSLRs have, and I doubt they ever will.

The LCD is really only for viewing pictures that have already been taken. I don`t know why you`d want an SLR and still want to compose pics with the LCD.

Nice pictures, but like you said, you can see the dust on the lense. There`s dark spots on the hood in the second shot. But hey, that`s easily fixed. I really like how the curb continues onto the vehcile in the first shot :D I`m looking at getting an S2 IS for christmas. Not exactly a DSLR, and certainly doesn`t have the same capabilities, but it does take nice pictures and lets the user have alot of control.

Nice pics. Are you using the XT Kit Lens or did you get a different lens?

I bought a Rebel XT this summer and love it. The range of the DSLR is amazing. Get a nice cleaning kit to get rid fo that dust. :D

I`ve been using these folks for advice with the RebelXT. Cannon Forum (http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/forum.asp?forum=1031&page=1)

I have just brought the UK version the Canon 350D and I am very happy with it. Like you its taking some getting back into the swing of SLR useage, and its so much more advanced than the old SLRs I used at college. I am blown away by the quality. Which Lens you using? I purchased mine with the 18-55 mm lens kit and got and additional 70 - 300 mm zoom for Motorsport Track stuff.

Pic whore much Richt? Not that I`m complaining though, them there are some sexy pics! I really like the second picture on this page, those reflections are amazing. IIRC your process was something like VM/RMG/Souveran/Natty`s Blue right?

Me never ;) Just thought they where relevant pics to the thread about the Rebel XT. First ones I took when I got mine the other week.

Autoglym Extra Gloss and Super Resin on the second 4, Nattys Blue and Souveran over VM/RMG and EX-p in the first 4.
