I was cleaning the underside of my 2003 Cobra. Noticed that the Bassani stainless exhaust was getting really brown. Want to brighten it up, even take it back to that new look if possible.

Any suggestions on products or methods to use?

The thermal discolouration is a thin layer of oxidation. Regular metal polish will clean it off nicely.

If you are talking about the "oxidation" being the cause of the pipes turning brown, well I have plenty of it. I have a borla on my tundra, and while the muffler and the tip is bright and shiney, the pipes leading to and from the muffler/tips have turned brown. Have tried the metal polish/steel wool trick to no avail. even tried a powerball, nothing. still brown. i would love to know how to rid my truck of the brown pipes.

one possible but expensive solution is ceramic coating (Jet Hot)

0000 steel wool combined with metal polish, Blue Magic.
