UK Mobile Valet / Detailer

Hi I`m new here and new to detailing,

I want to get a little business going in Sheffield, UK detailing cars (valeting as we call it for some reason). The kind of services I`ll be offering are: wash ,wax, interior cleaning, and paint restoration (removing swirls, scratches, chips, and blemishes).

The first thing I need to know is the bare minimum I need to do all these and a rough idea of pricing, I know ropugly what I need but might have missed a few things off my list.

Is it too cheeky to use my customers electricity and water? (of course I`ll only be able to work where there is a socket near by and a tap/hose point.)

Welcome to DC and congrats on starting your valet business.

I`m a mobile detailer , however I don`t have a water tank and I have a small Honda generator for vacuum and buffers . Most people here in hawaii don`t mind it at all with letting me use their h2o and power . but that might just be here. Hawaii has over a million people but still a small community feel and is real "laid back ". If you`re going to do this fulltime and as a single source of income than start investing and researching water and power solutions. When you`re fully mobile and independant you`ll have a larger customer base . On slow days you can just troll parking lots and start drumming up business while people are working.

Let`s see , to start I would suggest

Poter Cable R/O buffer , 6 in. counterweight, velcro backing plate
7 1/2 in. pads. cutting, polishing , and finishing. Lake Country is good.
A decent set of compounds for clearing up defects and blemishes PB`s , Meguires
A couple diff. polishes , PB`s Polish w/ Carnuba , Klasse AIO , chrome polish , glass polish . Some good sealants and waxes. PB`s , Meg`s. Adams .

Some general All Purpose Cleaner for rims and tires and door jambs . Simple Green is OK
Of course dillute APC accordingly .
Assortment of brushes , tyres and interior .assortment of drying chamois or waffle weave or both
A couple of buckets , decent wash soap and wash mitt .
A bunch of Microfiber towels
A bunch of Applicators for wax and polish and general purpose
Extension cords. 1 25 ft. 1 50 ft.
Vaccuum w/ass. attachments . `
Interior dressings , glossy and semi gloss
leather cleaner and conditioner
rubber , vinyl and tire dressing .

Lets not forget a decent vehicle and some signage and business cards and or flyers with your prices and services.
