Everyone was talking about polishing and finishing these new, super-hard clear coats. A Mercedes-Benz spokesperson told us the switch to the new, nano, ceramic clear coats that started in 2005 is all but complete. The last plant, in Austria, will switch in January of 2006. If you purchased a Mercedes Benz in 2005, check the paint code. If it starts with a "C", your car has the new, ceramic clear coat. A Volvo spokesperson told us that Volvo will start their switch to the new scratch-resistant clear coats in January, 2006 starting with their top-end models. By the end of 2006, all Volvos will have this new clear coat.

At left, Scott McLain, Director of Sales and New Product Development, Lake Country Manufacturing, demonstrates how to polish and finish these new, ceramic, clear coats.
