I would get the Shop-vac it had more horsepower and more capacity.

I`ve got the Ridgid. Plenty of power and very portable.

Second the motion for the Rigid. I have one and the size is right and it has enough power to do what you want done.
I have a Ridgid model close to the one you`re looking at. It has plenty of power plus it is very portable. It is the one that comes with the wall mounting basket.Home Depot vac (http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS/EN_US/diy_main/pg_diy.jsp?CNTTYPE=PROD_META&CNTKEY=misc%2fsearchResults.jsp&BV_SessionID=@@@@1165265969.1130504243@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccfaddgdhlmfljcgelceffdfgidgmj.0&MID=9876)
I went looking for the one in your link but none of the Home Depot`s in my area had them.
I am very pleased with the one I have. If you do get the Ridgid, pick up the detailing kit, it comes with a smaller hose and very useful tools for car work.

Same here, I *love* this vac. I have had several shopvacs throughout the years and they were all garbage. Most of them took a dump on me within the first year. I switched to craftsman(which worked quite well for me), then gave the rigid a try. The rigid does all that I ask of it.

A buddy of mine has it and purchased the $100 model. Same vac, longer hose and perhaps comes with the wall basket. I`ve used it and it`s awesome for the money... and LIFETIME warranty? You can`t beat that.
I have the DeWalt vac that can use any of their 9.6v-18v batteries as well as AC power and it`s pretty convenient. It`s also priced at the $100 range. Definitely get the Rigid.
Good luck,
Mike

The same rigid with the wall mount from Home depot is great.

I have the Rigid with the wall mount and I really like it. My only problem is that 1 7/8" diameter hose is an odd size which limits your attachment selection. It comes with what you`ll need I just wish I could get a smaller crevice attachment for those very small, tight spots. The universal adapters don`t work for this size, but I`m sure you could make something.

You can get the detailing kit, it steps down the hose dia. and has some good attachments for detailing.

here`s the Home Depot link for the kit.

If I`m not mistaking they are 1 1/4" which is too small for the vacuum. Am I looking at the wrong thing?
Your looking at the right thing, it comes with an adapter to step the hose down to the small size.

thanks fellas, ridgid it is!
The ridgid is a very good vacuum; compact and fairly powerful.
But I ound it to be a little noisey for my taste. I got a Fein instead,
and I haven`t been disappointed. Cost more, but defintely worth it, IMHO.
