View Full Version : I went mad today and mixed Klasse SG into my wash water

:scared: So I found this old sample I had laying around of SG. And then my old Blackfire shampoo. And then some eagle one quick detailer. So....I pondered the possibilities.
So I just mixed it all together, because you see my car hasn`t been completely detailed in awhile, nor waxed in awhile, so it needed some spunk.
And then I said well goodness if this doesn`t work out well I want to at least have a clean car without marring so I put a capful of QEW in, even though I was washing regularly. I remembered that Blackfire "gloss ehancing shampoo" was never my favorite car wash.....

So yeah maybe I went crazy with taking pictures. Oh, the Neon. Uhm, I haven`t even touched the car other than washing. My mom detailed it after she bought it, but I really haven`t had much time lately.
Conclusion: I don`t think SG does much good or harm in wash water, and with it being so expensive I wouldn`t make it a habit.

Interesting, that is a new one on me.

You know, though, I have been putting Wolfgang sealant in my wash water for a few weeks now and it really does work well.
When my car isn`t that dirty, of course.

Gheesh...I`ve seen a couple threads now that mentioned something about mixing sealants in with wash water as well as QDs, but I`ve never seen a whole bunch of dialog. This concept intrigues me...
So, since my fav is untopped UPP, I suppose I could put some UPP in my 4* auto wash and/or mix with my UGE? How much do you guys mix in the wash and in the QD?
Thanks!

I use the NXT Spray Booster Wax in my wash water, as well as my 2nd pail of sponge rinse water, and I find that it helps the sponge glide over the car even better than with just the P21S Bodywork Shampoo that I use. I highly recommend this technique. I use roughly 6 full sprays of the NXT Booster Wax, and I have been very impressed.
Just thougt I would add my findings as this improved the look of my BMW prior to the RMG and OCW that I apply as finish coats.

I would use a sealant you don`t care for. I just never really saw a purpose for Wolfgang. And EX-P, the old formula. Hey I haven`t put that in wash water yet.
I wouldn`t put something I really like or paid good money for in wash water, because the affect is similar to quick detailing after a wash. And quick detailers are much cheaper than these sealants.
I`ve just been too cheap to buy more FX synwax Spraywax, so this makes up for it. Otherwise I wouldn`t bother. The coverage is spotty. Black trim can turn white over time.
Really, I only do it because I`m tighter than skin on a weiner when it comes to money right now.

Reminds me of when I was a kid and would sit on the kitchen floor, mixing anything I could in a glass bowl -- vinegar, allspice, garlic, cinnamon sticks, brown sugar, corn starch -- you name it. It would always end up being a brown, smelly mess. Anyone else?
Car looks nice btw.

Corey, what the heck are you doing man? If you`re trying to conserve I don`t think I`d be blowing SG on wash water. The car does look good though! It was actually warm enough to wash today? I wanted to do it but it was freezing here today and windy.
Maybe we`d better take up a collection so you can get some new FX. :LOLOL

I have tried to put some of my sealant range into a small sample bottle plus top it up with 1z perls, four star or DP and the sealants and even waxes prevent the shampoo from sudsing
However adding a glob of it to already filled bucket of shampoo sounds interesting.
I`m thinking of making up a spray version of Klasse SG.
If you want a good wash combo, put half each of 1Z perls and 4 star ultimate shampoo in a bottle and pour 30-40 ml of it into a bucket and fill with purified water, springwater may suffice

It was maybe 50ml. And I don`t have AIO, and in my experience SG is kind of like Turtle Wax on bad paint when it comes to durability over the top of.........non-AIO stuff.
And it was cold but I don`t have too much time anymore, so I detail when I get a chance regardless of weather.
Oh, and SG didn`t ruin the suds. I don`t really mind that much. WG ruins all of the sudsing, but then again what good to suds do anyway.
I could imagine that mixing SG with water ruins all of the good durability characteristics. I really prefer WG for adding to water. Mainly because it is so slick, and I never expected it to be durable under normal application, so it just makes the paint slicker and better for a week. Kind of like the typical WG....................... :nervous:

I wouldn`t mix it with the wash water as UPP and water do *NOT* play well together. You could get some really nasty spotting if it didn`t work out.

Is WG different? I was kinda following the idea that the earlier poster had...

Finally! A use for the NXT Spray Wax!
Until now I thought its only purpose was to create a fine white dust and pinpoint spots on my windows.
