OK, I finally realized that anyone who thinks they can really detail a dark car by hand is fooling themselves and I sprung for the PC. My question is- what do you guys do about using the PC on pinstriping and emblems? Do you go over the emblems with the pad? Seems like that`s asking for trouble. It also seems that a machine would probably remove the taped pinstripes on many of the new cars. Need some sage advice here. Has anyone used the Griots pads? They only have 2 - orange for polish, red for wax. Seems pretty simple.

I go right over top of emblems and pinstripes. The foam pads of the PC are very easy on both. The emblems/stripes would have to be very loose for the PC to rip them off. (That or you putting WAY too much pressure on the buffer)

Never tried the Griots...all my pads are from Lake Country (AKA Top of The Line).

I don`t go over emblems as I want to avoid ripping my pads, I just try to go around them gently. But pinstripes don`t even slow me down!!!
