View Full Version : Anyone know about the radio in the new T-bird?

Has anybody here been inside the dash of one of the new Thunderbirds? Specifically, I`m wondering if the antenna plug to the radio is the standard type of pin that most aftermarket radios use. I am hoping to install an Audiovox FMM-100 modulator so that I can use an iPod with the stock radio in my 2003 T-bird. But I don`t want to pull the dash only to find that the wiring harness or antenna interface will make the install difficult.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

From what I can find, it seems it may just be the regular style antenna plugs

Metra doesn`t list an antenna adapter so I assume it wouldn`t need one.

I would check out Precision Interface Electronics (PIE), if anyone has an adapater that will plug n play, it would be them.

They also have a forum where you can ask...

Thanks for the input, guys. I guess I`ll go ahead and try the install.

I really appreciate the ability to get an answer here, as I`ve had this same question posted on a T-bird forum for three weeks with no response. :hairpull
