Good interior cleaner to eliminate smoke smell

My dad is a heavy smoker and because he is trying to sell the car, he wants to get it detailed in and out. Unfortuntely the interior smells like smoke so Im hoping I can get some recommendations on some cleaners I can use on the suede seats and carpet. I guess cleaning those areas will eliminate most of the smell, any suggestions would be helpful

I have had good luck with the Meguairs Pet Odor eliminator. It takes 2 applications, 2 days apart, but does well.

I can second that one. I have to get the smoke smell out of my Audi, and I used the Neg`s pet Odor Eliminator. WOrked well. Just make sure you spray all the fabric you can, and pay special attenion to the headliner and pillars. All places where smoke can set in. Good luck!

Find a professional with an ozone machine. It will completely eliminate the smoke odor, and any other organic odors. Be careful what you use on the suede. Leather Master makes a foaming cleaner that works well on suede without getting it too wet.

Agreed. Completely clean the interior top to bottom (including the headliner) and then find a shop with an ozone generator.

I agree with Scott and Brwill. I am currently trying to change the way I do things, I`m getting too old and sore to detail so I`m trying to specialize in odor control. Most of my works has to do with AC and vent systems but I also work on interiors. Anyhow, this is the machine for you, the xt6000 or the xt4000. Anything less and it wouldn`t be efficient, and anything more and you can damage you car. You have to use it on a timer and not enter the car for at least 30 minutes after the cycle. Ozone go backs to O2 and is harmless after that 30 minute time period. This machine will ellimainate most of the smell but wont penetrate down deep, so you need a good liqued enzyme treatment that will get deep into the rugs/seats and stuff. I would start with Ozone, because it has to be dry to use the machine, then enzyme treatment, then if needed another Ozone treatment a day later.

This stuff is also really effecient at removing odors and you can dillute it and use it in an extractor. Leaves a decent smell but the beauty of it is that it is economical and can be used often for soemone who smokes but doesn`t want the odor in the car.
