This car, 97 Toyota 4Runner, was detailed last Sunday. A lot of deep scratches and bad paint oxidization on the roof.

Here are the pictures after wash and clay.

Since the roof has already begin clearcoat failure, I only used the Optimum Polish orange pad with Cyclo. The rest of the panels were Optimum Polish with wool pad on rotary buffer and then follow up with O polish green pad on rotary buffer. Here are the pics.

The owner, female, was not satisfy. She aksed me did I ever buff the car and the carpet seem dirty??? :grrr She said the car over all looks wasn`t any better than the local $99.99 detail shop. When I worked 3 hours on the exterior and 2 hours on the interiors (total of 5 hours). Charged $200.00.

She insisted I did not do any better job than $99.99 guy while I had not even finished the interior. So I offered her to stay another 15 more to spot clean the carpet. But she needed to leave to pick up her son NOW. So I only charged her $180 instead of $200. This customer I meet her from local small business group where we meet very Wed. So I charged her $40 less than my regular price.

Here is the funny part. Yesterday I meet her at our club as I already prepared she would bad mouth of work. Surprisingly, the moment we saw each other. She greeted me with big smile and saying what a wonderful job I did. What the ........????? I don`t understand. She even refer me to other members. :work:

What is wrong with this people.

The truck looks great. :xyxthumbs I wouldn`t worry about what she thought. Since she was nice in person and referred you to others, pass it off as she was having a bad day and complaining about your work made her feel better. If she really felt that way she wouldn`t have said positive comments later.

I quoted her over the phone without seeing it (150-200 for medium condition). So may be something to do with max quote.

Lesson learned. No more below $40 per hour job.

Looking good. OCP w/a Wool pad is at it`s best. Which wool pad did you use?

I would have at least dressed the tires, but great job none-the-less.

I think he did, just a really matte finish.

Edit - I agree, seems like she was after a discount. At least she is getting you new clients, hopefully they aren`t as cheap as her.

The tire dressing was PB. Somehow the shine just did not show up from that angle.

Awesome job.

Dont let her attitude throw you. You know you did a great job. Sometimes I find that people who dont take care of their cars themselves balk at the finished product because they are trying to get a discount. If they really cared about appearence, it wouldnt be in such bad condition to begin with. It isnt until after a few people rave about how good it looks do they feel they got a great job worth every penny they spent.

That truck probably never looked so good, even when she bought it.

Thanks for the support. I need it on this one. Full price for her. OR she can go to $.99 for detail. :har:

Did you show her the before pics? I guess you dont want to argue with a customer, but if someone is disputing the work, showing them how crappy their car looked before your hard work might change their mind.
