Protecting paint for winter

I have a `96 Miata that I`ve used Z-2 on, but recently switched to S-100 because it makes the dark blue look much better. But with winter coming, I need to shift my focus to protecting the paint, because I`ll throw the hardtop on it and it will be driven through the winter. What`s the best way to do this? I can`t really start layering up the Z-2 with the S-100 on there, can I? I don`t want to tear everything down and start over either. So what`s the best way to protect the paint and the car in general, Z-2 or otherwise?
