Hey all!!!

One of my regular client`s has parted with her `05 350Z Roadster....

...and purchased the gorgeous `05 G35 coupe that I detailed today. This is actually the second client I`ve had do this. The other went from a silver `03 350Z Touring into a black `04 G35 coupe with the sport package. Both clients gave indentical reasons...they loved the Z`s but the G`s offered better practicality by having a back seat (both client`s vehicles are daily driven primary vehicles). Either way you just can`t go wrong with these cars. Two weeks ago when I was at a car show I saw an orange 350Z with a Vortech blower and custom intercooler set-up that was putting 420 rear wheel ponies down. If I ever decide to buy an import rest assured it will be either a Z or G.

This G only had a little over a 100 miles on it and as such was in new condition. Dealer swirling was minimal with the worst part being a few rotary induced buffer trails. The paint was free of contaminants and did not need to be clayed. Below are pics and a description of the detail.

Enjoy,

Mike

The detail:

Wash with Meg`s Gold Class shampoo

Polish with Klasse AIO using a LC white pad and my PC set at 5.

Seal with Poorboy`s Natty Paste Wax by hand with a foam pad. Even though this G is a dark color I prefer using the original white Natty`s over the blue Natty`s on metallic paint. What the white Natty`s gives up in depth to the blue Natty`s on dark colors it more than makes up for in making metallic flake "pop" with vengeance.

Glass has been VM`d, rims are sealed with Meg`s #20 and the tires and wells are dressed with AA.

Beautiful. The detail job and the car. Makes me miss my coupe. :( Interesting reasoning on the original natty`s - the flake does look nice!

And yes, DG is a fantastic color. It has this really cool ability to look very bright during the day and dark and menacing at night. Now send her this link, she will never leave. (oh, I have to add since someone else is bound to - automatic!!! :( ) :)

Very nice. Wet and Wild.

The flake is just going wild for a carnauba, and in some shots the paint is beyond glowing, it`s shimmering.

I hate you. While you were cleaning that beautiful G35, I was detailing the interior of a smoker`s Accord. Blech! Really cute girl owned it but what a nasty brown mess her habit leaves everywhere!

Outstanding work, Mike! Dripping wet and popping metallic!

That makes me miss my 2004 Black Obsidian on Black 6M Coupe. That was the car I really learned some worthwhile techniques on. It is such a great testbed with all those flat surfaces. I remember I used the 1ZPP via PC, Klasse AIO via PC, SG by hand, and topped with Souveran. That was the most rewarding feeling in the world... after my first REAL detail.

Your work is outstanding, Mike. Good job and thanks for sharing.

Nice job Mike. I really like the G35. It`s a cool car. Seems a bit more refined to me than the 350, which it should...I guess. We just put a windshield in a 6 speed black G35 coupe last week, and I saw a guy last night with a twin turbo G.....Must be G35 week for me or something.

Really nice car and of course your detail makes it look even more beautiful.

I really love the way the engine/exhaust sounds on these cars.

Looks fantastic Mike. The only thing that G is missing is the Aero package...I think the G`s look so much better with the small wing on the back. :xyxthumbs
