The following pictures are of a 1968 Camaro SS. The gentleman that it was purchased from had attempted to wet sand and polish the finish the entire car looked like s@#&. He used 1000 grit.

I used the not yet available Optimum Pro Compound with a lamb’s wool pad. I also tested it with a yellow lake country compounding pad. My final polish was with the Optimum Polish and a Green Optimum polishing pad. This was a two-step job not counting the OCW.

1st step compound

2nd step polish.

The first shot represents the entire car before I started

The car is up for sale. The current owner just wanted it cleaned up a little

I thought the Optimum Compound was already available? There is a Pro compound that is different and not out?

There will be a new compound out soon. It will be much more aggressive. For Body Shop use.

Antony mentioned it in another thread - a more aggressive version of the compound. Looks like it works really well. D&D, you clearly do awesome work, that Camaro looks stunning. That`s just OCW as an LSP? I like it a lot but I think that`s just about the best it`s ever looked. Question - did the new opt compound leave hazing after you tried it with the wool or yellow LC pad? Also, I assume you were using a rotary?

Beautiful car and detail, Ron. Nice job on all those scuffs, the paint looks really wet and swirl/scratch free in the after shots. :)

Yes it did haze the paint. The wool pad much more than the foam. The swirls were easy to remove with the polish.

$19000

Thank You for the nice words. It was a fun car to to work on. Did I mention the motor is pushing out over 400 hp.

My brother had a 68 in almost the same color, minus the bumble-bee stripe. Nice work on a beautiful first-gen Camaro.

Yes, because OCW IS an LSP and NOT a QD.

I know, I have it, I use it, I love it. I was just saying it looks very good for OCW alone. I was complimenting it. Hence the rest of my post:

I started to edit my post thinking of this possibility, but I had to leave. After I came back and read your answer... :D (I closed the edit window...) ;)

True, amazingly deep and clear! But Ron does wonders as always...
