If you`re polishing billet wheels, you might want to try a soft cotton buffing wheel on your drill.

There are 2 types of cotton buffing wheels: sewn and loose. You can see the difference when you shop for them at a local hardware store. The sewn has stitching in several rings on the wheels and is stiff while the loose has a single stitch line near the arbor.

I typically use Mother`s Billet or NXT Metal polish and apply it to the surface of the wheel with a soft cotton rag. Then I work the polish with the buffing wheel until the finish is satisfactory.

If you can`t find a loose sewn wheel locally, here is a link for a supplier and he has great service and information: http://www.hobbytool.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=14
