Have been reading a lot of posts on the main forums about car canopies (ezup etc.) and have been thinking this might be a good investment, since I only usually get the weekend for detailing and then only if the weather is just right - not sunny, not raining.

Does anyone else use a canopy, if so which one and where did you buy it?

I use a Caravan Canopy that I got from Costco. It came with three walls, side supports for those walls, zippered front entry and a wheeled bag. I paid $150 for it but it went up to $200 and it`s still a bargain at that price. It`s easy to set up and can be done by one person.

Thanks SpoiledMan, that confirms the kind of prices I`m looking at here in the UK are about right.

If are looking for a really good canopy to completely cover the car I would sugguest the EZ Up Speed Shelter. Its 10 x 12 and the quality is top notch. Its alittle pricey at like $300.00.

If you are looking for something quick, cheap, and easy, I would sugguest one of the Pop Up Canopies that Pep Boys sells. We recently picked one up for use for our car club. It was only $49.00 on sale and came with a bag with rollers. For a 10 x 10 canopy that sets up quick the price can`t be beat.

There are two places I`ve found in the UK for canopies:

I would love to get an EZ Up one, but i looked at a shipping charge and it was as much as the canopy!

My one came from Chequered Flag (chequeredflagawnings.com), which is a caravan jobbie and is 8ft x 16ft.

Wasn`t cheap but has lasted over two years of shows and still looks brand new. The framework is some sort of coated steel, as opposed to aluminium and is really secure. There was a huge storm at Japfest this year and at Santa Pod last year and alot of the cheapies just colapsed and got pulled apart by the wind, we just dropped the roof and got someone on each corner and didn`t have a prob.

If it`s a long term investment, get one that will last.
