Well my mom finally got it. We ordered it about a month and a half ago, and it`s here. They ran into a snag have way through the building process, they ran out of transmissions and spoilers. But who cares, it`s here now. This thing is awesome, not quite my 03 Cobra, 120 more horses with the cobra. This thing has the loudest stock exhaust I have ever heard on a car, I didn`t even think a car could be this loud from the factory. She works for a local Ford dealer so she was able to get an awesome deal, and a 1.9% loan, can it get any better. She did get the infamous black, which I can`t believe how many swirls there are. But I was able to get them not to detail it for her!:D It looks like I will need to hit it up with #83, #80 with polishing pads to get it where it needs to be. The car is pretty quick, the transmission is very good. Anyways, on to the pics!

you mentioned you`d use #83 and then #80. Is this combo popular?? I always thought you could use these as `either or` and not both. just due to the fact they do the same thing (just different abrasive levels).

I guess another way to look at it would be this:
if you did a good job with #83, then if you used #80, the #80 would have alot more polishing effect than you would really need after the #83??!!! make sense anyone. I have both and love`em.

wow! seeing that car on the streets lately all dealer prepped, or dirty made me really give it a thumbs down. but seeing it nicely detailed and shining the right way makes me want one. oh and the 300 hp wasnt a turnaway either... id love one of those ponys.

#80 will remove the marring left behind by #83. Sometimes it`s not an issue, but most of the time you need to follow #83 with a less abrasive polish like #80.

you bet #80 would remove the marring left behind by #83....it`ll remove alotmore than that! kinda overkill i guess my point being. maybe a lighter polish would be adequate (Menza FP, ssr1, #9,81)?????

BTW killer car and good work so far! have fun with the black!

You put down sealant before the Souveran. I`m about to receive a can of Souveran from another member, and I thought that the Souveran was to be laid down first, THEN the sealant? Please advise...

My proposed process will be to:

wash
clay
UPC
Souveran
UPP

Thanks,
Charles

noooo. ;) - souveran is a wax - the sealant will not bond you need to go sealant then wax - not the other way round :)

I would try using #80 or even #82 Before going with the #83 DACP.
According to the Meguiars abrasive scale:
#83 = 6
#80 = 4
#82 = 3
The higher the number ... the more abrasive
Also, I am not sure, but the Glaze will effect the bonding of the sealant.
Great looking car!!! :)

I agree as I would think on a new car #80 and maybe even #82 would be more than adequate, as it`s always best to start with the least agressive necessary to do the job. I can`t imagine the surface being to bad on a new car. I would do a quick clay, #80, VM, EX P followed by S100. There are definitely other combinations that would look awesome, but that`s been my favorite flavor on my balck mustang. I bet that Mustang will look killer when all done.:mohawk

I did try a section using VM, not strong enough. Then I tried FP II, not quite enough. Then I did A section with #80 and it did a pretty good job on them. I think I will be able to do just 2 passes with #80 and be satisfied. But I will keep you guys up to date on what`s going on!!!
