After an outing at Oulton Park this car had become covered in a rubber type black blemishes all over which really dulled the paint. The owner attempted to remove them using clay but thought he was inducing more scratches. Actually he wasn`t it was just the swirls in the paint that he could see. He contacted me via another forum which I use and we set about cleaning the paint.

Process was as follows

Power wash wheel arches, degrease and dress

Remove stuck on flies with autocare bug cleaner

QEW

Clay all over

The above took the pair of us 4 hours although in that time the owner also removed the factory fit racing stripes and changed the location of the IK kit and replaced the fog lamp.

Next we hit it with DACP, VM and sealed with UPP, I gave the owner a sample of CMW to `top` it with the next morning. For anyone interested this car is running approx 200BHP/ton, gaz coilovers and running 1.3 negative camber. The interior wasn`t cleaned but as you can see from the shot below a hosepipe would have been the best bet if it had needed it :chuckle: I do have owners permission to post plate.

Track days are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun...but the aftermath is never pretty...esp with my white car...race pads tens to make the lowers of my car look grey after a few sessions...and we won`t even speak about the wheels.

Its always a 4+ hour journey immidiatly as I get home from the track for my car...I feel for you as cleaning up after the track is a mess

great results.

Very nice work. What did you dress the inside of the wheel arches with?

Does it dry to a shiny finish then?
