OK, here`s the race cars!

First up an Alfa GTA classic saloon racer. I actually did this whilst waiting for the second car to arrive as I was bored! No washing needed to either as both already washed.

Process

VMW HG by hand

NXT by hand

PlastX to all windows as all but windscreen perspex and heavily scratched

B&B to tyres

Carlack 68 on wheels

As for the dull bonnet/boot, both are hand painted and even by hand I got a LOT of transfer. These guys don`t wrap these cars in cotton wool and battle scarring was evident on the whole car - good thing too as these are way too good to be locked up in a museum!

Next up the one I`ve teased you all over - sorry! A Ligier JS2 sports racer worth a lot of money (think, UK prices, enough to buy at least 5 Bentley GT`s - gulp!). Powered by a Cosworth DFV engine and weighs in below 1000kgs AFAIK - i.e. truly frightening P2W ratio....

Process as Alfa basically although I used EX-P - should be its toughest test as this car gets raced both on track and closed road events! The big difference here was the detail work to the front chassis, interior & engine bay. Lots of aluminium and powder coated framing so a mixture of clay, thinners (to remove some overspray that even clay couldn`t shift at front end) and AG Metal Polish to all bare metal. Air line used to blow dust and dirt from engine bay and no dressing used at all other than B&B to dashboard

An unusual duo there Andy!

Makes a nice change seeing some cars like those... did you get a ride in that Ligier?

I havent heard of the Ligier at all but it sounds impressive with it`s price being as much as 5 Bentleys. Nice job on both cars.

Unusual`s right Craig!

The Ligier was just back from painting (hence the lack of lights) and not running. The guy who runs the workshop has promised me plenty more work on this sort of car and we`ve agreed a good hourly rate too!
