Can i run my tranny from an extension cable, rather than from the wall socket? I`ve got a couple of cars to do, but aren`t close to the house, so would need to run the tranny off an extension. Should i be ok? I`ve already got 2 110v extension cables, and it wont reach.

thanks

Yup, that will be fine. You aren`t pulling a lot of power down to run your PC anywa, so as long as you have thick enough cable (unwound) you won`t suffer.

I run mine off a step down which is and has always been run off a 50m extension from the house (my garage is close to 40m from house) - never had a problem or loss of power this way.

cool, thanks guys. Was a bit dubious about just going for it. Dont wanna be half way through the detail, and the customer come out asking if that yellow box is supposed to be smoking lol

So tranny = digital orbiter. In the states a tranny is the car`s transmission. Didn`t think you could get far on an electric car if you needed an extension cord :)

tranny = tranformer. In the UK we need one to drop 240V to 110V. :brit

I always though that a tranny = transvestite !

Seemed an odd question asking abut your transvestite and her extension cable ! (LOL)
