Took the boys back on Monday. 911 miles from my brother`s house in Rockwall, took us 13 hours, 45 minutes. On the way back, all the way to Arlington, it was 951 miles and I did it in 13 hours, 40 minutes. :)

My two boys, Jason (left) and Chris (right). Obviously Chris stayed up too late the night before and 7:30 am wasn`t agreeing with him.

Drove past the National Corvette Museum (stopped and went in a few years ago) but not this year.

Surrounded by white vehicles in Benton, Arkansas.

Approaching Arkadelphia, Arkansas-not the clouds I wanted to see. Pretty heavy rain all the way to Hope.

Nice set of photos. Brings back fond memories of my US roadtrips. I particularly liked to shot of the road with all the white cars and I noticed the price of fuel is getting "up there" in cost.

Chris starts college in a month-in fact, he needs to be on campus by the middle of August for 3-a-days. I still remember his first day of kindergarten.

Great pics Scott!!! Hella fast drive time too. I`ve made the trip up to NJ from here (about the same mileage ~950) in about 13.5 - 14 hours and I know just the kind of speeds you had to average. ;)

From the pics that I`ve seen of you on this site the boys look like spitting images of their Pops!!

How did you like Ky? It is my fav state. The people are very friendly and down to earth. Don`t get me wrong I love NC, but most of the people here are transplants. Glad your trip went safe.

Set the cruise on 75-78 through Kentucky (65 mph limit) and 78-82 the rest of the way (70 mph limit). Any faster and you just run up on people too fast and get frustrated when they don`t move out of the left lane.

Yeah, the boys and I look a lot alike, kind of scary, isn`t it?

On the way there, we went though the eastern edge of Arkansas to 155 though Missouri and into the northwest corner of Tennesse then up through the southwest corner of Kentucky to the West Kentucky Parkway to avoid Memphis and Tennessee traffic. On the way home though, I took 65 south to Nashville and 40 into Memphis and Little Rock. Drove the other way 3 times already this summer so I wanted a change of scenery. Anyone know when 240/40 through Memphis will finally be finished? Looks like 65 into Music is almost done.

I like visiting Kentucky, it is a beautiful state. :)

The rest stops are nicer than some hotels I`ve stayed at! Dry Ridge (where my ex-wife and kids live) is a pretty nice small town.

I was around that 40 through Little Rock at the beginning of the month. It would have been nice to see you again Scott. When are you coming out west again?

It will probably be a while. My next trip will probably be to Greenville, Illinios to watch my son play football if I can find the time this fall.
