What do you use to melt ice/snow on the driveway and decks? I was told to stay away from certain things because they can damage the surface.

Believe it or not, cat litter works very good, and it doesn`t cost much.

Never had any problems with this product...did not effect my deck in anyway.

As far as animals i would be careful with anything like this. It works pretty fast so i would sweep it up as soon as it melts the ice.
