Recieved a 92 Talon last night around 8-9 PM, and I set straight to work till around 12 (taking a short break to come and chat with fellow autopians). Got up again today at 7am and started to work on `er again. Paint was in fairly decent condition, but the front end was repainted from a accident, and I couldn`t fix the problems. I always seem to have problems with repaint, single stage paint jobs. I always get buffer lines, and such, with even the PC. Even by hand applying wax I got streaks....yeesh.



Anyways, the car is a top performer, and is a pretty wicked car. Although, I can`t get it to idle, pulling it into the garage is extremely difficult, yet fun at the same time. Get the car up around 4k RPM, and let out the clutch. :soscared: Jesus its crazy. And this isn`t even his race clutch, he claims it to be his "street" clutch. As described by the owner, its got everything done, except for a aftermarket block, runs low 11`s on the street, and is a blast to drive. I`ll be heading out in a couple hours to see what its like, but I will attach a video of me trying to get it to start, and pull it into the garage. :doh



Processes were:



Wash

Strip mothers 3 step with claybar

Polish with SSR2.5 on cuttin pad x2

Polish hood and repainted fender over 7 times to remove most "dots" of haze...seems like he might of sprayed windex or something onto the paint.

Final polish with SSR 1 on finishing pad. (Restored a lot of depth surprisingly)

Topped with my current red, black and blue LSP, NXT.



Tires weren`t actually dressed, thats just 1 hour of scrubbing. (He didn`t want them dressed)



Rims got Klasse AIO

Trim was topped with Trim Restorer

Huh? Or house is on a bay, that is backed by a little pond, but thats the front street...

Nice job! This thing must be fast, it reminds me of the 12 second Galant VR4 I got rid of in Feb. The braided A/N`d fuel system out back and the scatter shield under the hood are hints at big big speed for this car! Someone should tell him to put his timing belt cover back on though...it always freaks me out that people will drive that way on the street.

Just that shot of the rear bumper and the braided fuel line are a good indication this guy is pretty serious. :)

Just went for a ride. On his lowest boost setting, he smoked em up to 80 km/h....WITH AWD!!! Thats with a 5k dump, and 14 lbs of boost.



At the 30lb mark, and with his dump a little higher, well, I`m sure you can understand. The external waste gate makes it sound like semi going down the highway.



Look for my thread in the "professional detailer" section on what this detail has opened up for me.

If the BOV isn`t very loud, it was likely plumbed back into the intake, as the stock BOV works. Unless he`s got a full standalone or at least a VPC converted system, the car won`t run right on decelration with an open vented BOV.

He has a external waste gate that opens up and sounds like a semi under excellerationg. On deceleration, if you don`t have the clutch in, it will nearly stall.

The external gate should have nothing to do with the BOV. If you can`t hear that BOV, it`s probably plumbed back to the intake like a stock setup is.



Back on topic though, the car looks brand new! The color really pops...

OH! No, you CAN hear the blow off valve. Read my little writting thinger. You can hear it from two blocks away, and it sounds like a turkey. :chuckle:
